The Rotary Tilden & Rosalie Parks Amphitheater
2008 Summer Concert Season
The Rotary Tilden & Rosalie Parks Amphitheater is now operational. A dedication ceremony was held in October 2006. During the summer and fall of 2007, extensive construction on the sports complex field surrounding the amphitheater has made the amphitheater difficult to access. Landscaping has been completed and a memorial plaque has been added.

There is no permanent seating and everyone must bring their own lawn chairs. There is seating room for approximately 300-400 people at the site. There is a large parking lot being constructed immediately north of the amphitheater which will be beneficial to the facility.

Events encouraged at the Amphitheater are: musical concerts, religious rock bands, plays, political debates, class and family reunions, city events, public gatherings, and weddings. No alcohol or drug use is allowed at the amphitheater site and violators will be vigorously prosecuted. Proper dress attire is also required. This is a No Smoking facility.

A Community Band is now being formed and anyone in the Marion area with musical instrument talent is encouraged to audition for membership in the band. Once the band is formed, free concerts will be presented at scheduled intervals. Contact Elaine Melby at (618) 996-3582 for more information about the Community Band.

Anyone wishing to schedule an event at the Amphitheater should contact the principal, Steve Smith, at the Marion High School office located on South Carbon Street, phone (618) 993-8196. A fee schedule is now being prepared and will be posted on this site in the near future.

A reservation includes a large concrete stage area with lighting. Additional equipment (tables, chairs, PA system, etc.) may be reserved if available. This may require staff and set-up time, which may be subject to an additional fee.
