the Tilden and Rosalie Parks Amphitheater which the Rotary Club of Marion,
IL broke ground in May, 2004. This amphitheater is the club's 2005 centennial
project and will be constructed on the Marion High School athletic field
SW of the present high school on South Carbon Street. The |
amphitheater
was named for a local couple, Tilden and Rosalie Parks, who donated $50,000
towards the construction costs. Tilden is a retired cattle broker and felt
this amphitheater would be a good way to help the citizens of Marion provide
a forum for entertainment and new ideas. |
